This is a get to know the author behind the blog!
Hi, my name is Tram! I started this blog in my sophomore year (10th) of high school as a way of getting myself to watch more movies and committing to it with a weekly blog review every Monday (hopefully)!
Here are some more facts about me:
- I am/was 16 years old when the first blog post launched: November 30, 2019.
- I live in Atlanta, GA in a Vietnamese family.
- I really like cliché movies (I know and I’m sorry) that just has a feel-good, wholesome ending since you rarely get that feeling anymore in real life.
- I hope to major/minor in film when I go to college, maybe NYU, because I hope to have a stable career in editing or hopefully directing.
- I’m not the best when explaining my words or grammar so please bear with me if some of my posts are sloppy. I’m trying to improve in my writing… p.s. I am fluent in English just bad at concise language.
- Lastly, I hope none of my friends, family, or anyone I go to school with discovers this blog because they don’t share the same passion of film as me to the point where they start blogging about it (me).
The film choices that I’ll be reviewing over will primarily consist of my interest to the movie. My interest to watch a movie would be caused by personal recommendations (friends, family, etc.), ravings in the news, relation to a specific actor/cast, and/or spectacular critic reviews from qualified professionals.
Here are some of my favorite movies and actors in bold (in no particular order):
- The Help – Emma Stone
- The Edge of Seventeen – Hailee Steinfeld
- Call Me by Your Name – Timothée Chalamet
- The Wolf of Wall Street – Leonardo DiCaprio & Margot Robbie
- Lady Bird – Saoirse Ronan
- Silver Linings Playbook – Bradley Cooper
You guys, the frequent viewers of this blog, can request any movies by commenting on my most recent posts. I may watch movies that I’ve already watched, but have never reviewed on this blog. Reviews that include spoilers will be warned at the beginning of the post.
In conclusion, my reviews aren’t qualified and will be subjective. Please don’t take this as a literal critic’s review. My opinions and views on movies can 100% be different from yours and you don’t have to agree on my views. However, I will try my best to educate myself before writing a movie’s review by reading other professionally, qualified critics. For each movie posts, I will give a star rating out of 5, but once again they are subjective and unqualified.
If you’ve made it this far down, thank you for sticking around with me! I don’t have an official, public form of social media, but if this blog gets frequent viewers, then I’ll definitely get one. Once again, just an unqualified girl who loves film!
